Monkspotting: Annual Monthly Meeting
An evening of presentations and talks in support of the plight of rare and endangered monks
The St Davids Comedy Walking Tour
Fire Donkey present a surreal comedy horror Halloween experience. Welcome to the Monkspotting universe… Join the Royal Society for the Protection of Monks for their annual monthly meeting: an absurdly entertaining evening of incredibly niche presentations focused on raising awareness of the plight of the rare indigenous mediieval monks of the British Isles, many of whom call the St Davids Peninsula their home. Expect a series of lively talks on a variety of topics of interest to the experienced as well as novice monkspotter, featuring some innovative use of Powerpoint, as well as enthralling live demonstrations of new state-of-the-art (not to mention controversial) technology. And if that wasn’t enough, there will also be a line-up of eccentric guest speakers from the Monkspotting world, including, rumours have it, Frank the Dove, and a reformed monk poacher who turned 120 acres of private land into a monk reservation for rescue monks. And if that still wasn’t enough, there will be live music from a special guest, and there may even be a chance to see some live (some not so alive) wild monks up close and personal. There’s almost no way anything can go wrong, especially as it’s on Halloween, absolutely no chance of anything going wrong. All set in the cosy confines of Smorgasboard, St Davids boardgame café. Drinks and snacks will be available. Monkspotting is written by Fire Donkey Productions (Liam McKenna, Polly Preston, with frequent help from many good local arty people) purveyors of live alternative comedy in Pembrokeshire, makers of the St Davids Comedy Walking Tour, Church of Phil, and other creations.

Cancellation Policy
Thank you for booking our Halloween Monkspotting Experience. We hope do you enjoy it. We hope have at least some idea of what you are getting into. If not, all the better. Please note this event is a comedy horror event, with emphasis on the comedy (or horror, depending on your perspective) and will involve live actors and some jump scares. Please arrive early, the bar will be open. The whole event this year is taking place inside The Smorgasboard, which can be found along St Davids High Street (between Mountain Warehouse and Dead Sea Records) which means it is highly unlikely to be called off due to the weather (unless it gets really bad!) As this is an indoor event and we head into winter, of course covid remains with us and flu is set to return, therefore health and safety are our top priorities (as well as giving you an absurdly good evening of entertainment!). If you are feeling unwell or exhibiting any symptoms of illness (such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing), we kindly ask that you refrain from attending the event. This helps us protect all attendees and staff. If for any reason you are unable to attend the event, you are able to cancel and receive a refund up to 48 hours in advance. If later than this, refunds may only be processed at our discretion. If you have any questions about accessibility, do not hesitate to enquire at info@firedonkey.co.uk
